If you eat meat but are looking to save money buying on sale, I have done this for years. Buy the meat, divide it up into closable bags and adding in a marinade, store-bought or self-made. The meat marinades while freezing, while thawing and the liquid prevents freezer burn. This works very well for cheap, tough cuts of beef that will tenderize in the marinade. Label the bags with the date and type of marinade (you'll be surprised how fast you forget which one is seasoned with what) and stick in freezer. If you don't like spices, cover the cuts with olive oil to prevent freezer burn.
